Apply using the real export country

Prepare importer, exporter, agent and animal identities, including age and microchip number, and choose the real purpose. The online form allows saving before submission but no changes afterward. Country-menu entries are not approval. Obtain the actual permit and its conditions; the general application is not a complete sanitary certificate.

Keep the two deadlines distinct

Missing arrival information must be supplied no less than three working days before arrival; count Barbados holidays. The same form displays a twenty-one-day declaration note without defining “event”. Confirm that instruction and apply early rather than treating three days as a complete permit-processing window or twenty-one days as guaranteed approval. Report changes to [email protected].

US health conditions depend on residence and actual history

US exports use the currently linked 2019 certificate. Category 1 requires the stated residence evidence; sea travel or other histories can trigger Category 2, FAVN and the certificate’s ninety-day wait. For screwworm the veterinarian must inspect wounds and signs, verify the origin zone and the previous sixty days of transit. Do not assume all US locations meet that declaration. Cats do not inherit dog-only heartworm or parasite rules; the exact six-month dog boundary needs confirmation.

Other origins need their own medical conditions

The live form establishes a common application workflow, not a universal set of vaccines, laboratory timings, exemptions or airline permissions. Obtain the destination’s actual requirements for export country, residence, transit, age and purpose before arranging tests or flights. A US-specific declaration that named diseases are not endemic cannot certify another country. Customs treatment as cargo also does not alone decide whether the airline can carry the pet in cabin, hold or cargo.
