Vatican City Pet Import Requirements
Museum animal-access rules verified; national veterinary import policy still not obtained.
The Vatican Museums prohibit ordinary animals, including small pets, and provide controlled exceptions for guide dogs and certified pet-therapy animals with advance arrangements. This applies to the Museums and Castel Gandolfo museum complex; it is not a Vatican-state import health law or proof that all pets are barred from the country. No national dog/cat rabies, certificate or quarantine pathway was obtained. Confirm the actual Vatican destination and access authority; Italian entry/transit requirements remain a separate journey stage.
Rules depend on the route, animal and operating carrier. Confirm your own journey with the relevant authority and airline.
