Microchip before rabies vaccination. A readable identification tattoo made on or before 3 July 2011 can substitute if rabies vaccination followed it and the vet records tattoo date/number and vaccination in the document.

Obtain the entry document accepted for the actual origin: pet passport for EU/Part 1 listed origins, or an applicable Animal Health Certificate or Great Britain pet health certificate. Jersey also accepts eligible pre-2021 UK passports. Verify the issuer, journey and current validity with Jersey; do not treat a vaccine card as a passport.

Only if the actual source is unlisted: blood sampling at least thirty days after rabies vaccination and at least three months before entry, with a successful antibody result. Documented successful pre-departure testing can remove the return wait in the stated circumstances. The origin filter does not classify listed status or residence history; obtain Jersey’s applicable pathway before treating this as required.

Jersey issues import licences only for resident dogs returning, case by case, with neutering, a travel muzzle and liability insurance; appearance and crossbreeds can trigger assessment. These are not general new-import approvals.
