Obtain a MAST import permit and complete the health requirements in the matching dog/cat and country-category guide. A pet passport alone is not the import permit.
Ordinary pet imports. Category-specific tests, prohibited breeds and assistance-dog exceptions need separate checks. Import from a non-approved country requires a specific MAST authorisation, not merely a connection through an approved country.

Ordinary imports use approved export countries and require residence there for the previous six months, or since birth; residence in another approved country of the same rabies category may qualify. A separate MAST authorisation pathway exists for certain owners relocating from non-approved countries.

Plan two weeks of arrival quarantine for ordinary pet imports. Coordinate the station’s predetermined arrival days; the stated arrival window is 06:00–17:00, with station approval required outside that window.
