SENASA exempts one or two dogs/cats imported together from the zoosanitary import permit. Three or more require a permit application, export veterinary certificate, vaccination record and a fiduciary-quarantine statement from a registered private veterinarian who will quarantine the animals at the owner’s home. Do not apply the one/two-pet exemption to a larger consignment.

Applicable conditions
APHIS says US pets travelling to Honduras do not require APHIS endorsement. SENASA’s dog/cat models require the exporting competent authority’s signature/stamp. The accepted US issuing/signing arrangement was not resolved here; confirm it with SENASA and the US veterinarian before relying on an unendorsed document. The endorsement exemption does not waive the original certificate.

Cats from four months require feline panleukopenia, leukemia, calicivirus, rhinotracheitis and rabies vaccination. Carry the chronological vaccine record, with vaccines valid on arrival.

Report to the quarantine authority at the land, air or sea entry customs with the pet and documents for inspection. The published guide lists an inspection fee, but current charges must be confirmed.
