Grenada Pet Import Requirements

US endorsed certificate, rabies record and import permit.

Documents and permits

Dog / Cat · In the cabin / Accompanied hold baggage / Separate cargo service

Rules depend on the route, animal and operating carrier. Confirm your own journey with the relevant authority and airline.

Applicable conditions

The APHIS page requires a USDA-accredited veterinarian’s certificate issued no earlier than three weeks before scheduled arrival, then APHIS endorsement; its linked model is valid 21 days from issue. Embassy instructions differ, so have Veterinary Services confirm issuance and permit timing before certification.

Selected official requirements for personal pet dogs/cats exported from the United States. These are entry conditions, not airline acceptance. Other origins, commercial movements, transit, unusual ages and permit-specific conditions need separate checks. Confirm all requirements with the issuing veterinarian and destination authority.

Vaccination records

Dog / Cat · In the cabin / Accompanied hold baggage / Separate cargo service

The pet must have received rabies vaccination within the 12 months before arrival. Check the actual permit application for any additional dog/cat vaccine conditions.

Obtain the import permit and present it at entry. APHIS instructs applying after the certificate is endorsed; leave time for authority review. Notify Grenada’s Veterinary Officer of the port and arrival time; no fixed notification interval is established here.
