Chad Pet Import Requirements

Selected animal air-cargo vaccination-document and veterinary-inspection requirements; full dog/cat admission and accompanied travel remain to confirm.

Documents and permits

Dog / Cat · Separate cargo service

Carry vaccination documentation with the animal air consignment: the common ASECNA agricultural-quarantine section requires vaccination certificates for animal shipments. Its combined animal/plant wording does not establish a phytosanitary certificate for dogs/cats. It gives no named vaccine, rabies waiting period, vaccination validity, accepted pet health-certificate format, issuer, endorsement or document-age limit. Obtain the destination veterinary authority’s specific sanitary documents; this baseline alone does not approve an import.

Selected minimum conditions for privately owned healthy adult dogs/cats imported as independent air cargo on an origin, route and entry point actually accepted by the destination authority and carrier. The ASECNA common animal-consignment chapter supplies this baseline; it is not a complete personal-pet protocol or confirmation of admission from every origin. The 1 October 2026 contents still include the chapter dated 15 August 2019; the contents date does not make it a new 2026 rule. Check country implementation, additional conditions and current NOTAM/advisories before shipping. Accompanied cabin/checked baggage, land/sea entry, young animals and commercial movement remain unconfirmed. Unknown permit, certificate format/endorsement, rabies schedule, identification, titer, parasite and quarantine conditions are not exemptions.

Arrival and quarantine

Dog / Cat · Separate cargo service

Present live animals imported as air cargo for examination by the Veterinary Service, as stated in the common ASECNA cargo chapter. Veterinary examination is not a published fixed isolation period or proof that quarantine is waived. This dog/cat import entry does not apply the separate export-bird holding clause or the large-animal transport/sedation clause to pets.

Rules depend on the route, animal and operating carrier. Confirm your own journey with the relevant authority and airline.

Applicable conditions

Before booking, obtain current personal dog/cat import instructions from the destination veterinary authority and confirm origin, port, route/carrier acceptance, import permit, sanitary certificate/endorsement, identification, rabies schedule, titer, parasite treatment and quarantine. The common aviation chapter is a limited cargo baseline, not a complete national pet protocol; accompanying cabin/checked baggage and other paths remain unconfirmed. National customs pages, food/business controls, wildlife rules or another country’s export paperwork do not independently settle these requirements. No routine quarantine duration or permit exemption has been established. Current implementation and any superseding notices must be checked for the actual journey. Earlier research, not confirmed personal-pet entry conditions: Law 009/PR/2004 of 19 May 2004 lists rabies as a notifiable disease and regulates reporting, outbreak measures and collective prophylaxis. Articles 7–8 leave permanent live-animal import measures to ministerial orders. These clauses do not establish a healthy pet’s permit, accepted certificate, rabies waiting period, chip/titer requirement or fixed arrival quarantine. The relevant implementing import instructions were not obtained. Outbreak isolation or livestock vaccination provisions are not substituted for a household dog/cat protocol; contact the veterinary authority for the actual journey.
