Antigua and Barbuda Pet Import Requirements

Import licence, chip and FAVN documentation, seven-day treatments and breed limits.

Documents and permits

Dog / Cat · In the cabin / Accompanied hold baggage / Separate cargo service

Apply to the Veterinary & Livestock Division with rabies and microchip certificates, acceptable FAVN results and medical/vaccination history. Admission requires an issued import licence, not merely an application. Confirm any laboratory threshold and additional permit conditions directly.

Selected official requirements for personal pet dogs/cats exported from the United States. These are entry conditions, not airline acceptance. Other origins, commercial movements, transit, unusual ages and permit-specific conditions need separate checks. Confirm all requirements with the issuing veterinarian and destination authority.

Vaccination records

Dog / Cat · In the cabin / Accompanied hold baggage / Separate cargo service

The rabies vaccine must have been administered within one year before importation. Submit requested Ehrlichia/Lyme test results for dogs and relevant FIP, FeLV and FIV test/vaccination/history information for cats. The page does not establish a universal test schedule or vaccine for each listed feline condition; follow the licence review.

A USDA-accredited veterinarian issues the health certificate within seven days before arrival, attesting to health and freedom from communicable-disease symptoms. Obtain APHIS countersignature. The certificate deadline is based on arrival, whereas parasite timing is based on export.

Pitbull dogs and mixes are prohibited. A dog physically resembling this breed needs a recognised kennel-club certificate verifying it is not a pitbull. Confirm the individual animal with the authority before booking.
