Carrier dimensions
Dog / Cat · In the cabin
Since 1 June 2025, cabin pets require a flexible soft-sided carrier kept closed under the seat. The pet must be able to stand, turn and lie down comfortably. Maximum dimensions vary with aircraft and cabin; check the table for every segment, rather than using one universal size.

Book your own flight, then contact reservations to register the pet. Air Canada recommends registering within 24 hours of booking to preserve the described refund option if the pet cannot be accommodated. This is not a deadline of 24 hours before departure; unregistered pets are not accepted at the airport.

The listed short-nosed dog breeds cannot travel in the baggage compartment because of heat-stroke and breathing risks. Check seasonal temperature, aircraft and destination restrictions separately.
