A quarter of the world’s population has a pet and more than half travel with their pets, even at higher costs. Thanks to an increasing number of luxurious pet-friendly hotels around the world, vacationing with your cat or dog has become a bit easier.
While lots of hotels will allow you to bring a pet and have made it more convenient for travelers to bring their four-legged friends along simply by instituting pet-friendly policies, others do much more than tolerate the animal in your life: they do everything they can to make your stay with a pet special.
These luxury properties are going above and beyond to not only welcome canine clients, but to pamper them with over-the-top treats, services, and amenities. From grooming sessions with top stylists to gourmet in-room dining menus and designer outfits on arrival, your dog will enjoy it to the fullest on the next family getaway at these dog-friendly hotels.
Wondering what the best ones look like? In the next two blogs, we will present to you our choice!
- Las Ventanas al Paraíso’s, Los Cabos, Mexico
The resort offers special menus and massages to pamper furry friends who are vacationing in the lap of luxury.
In addition, a portable Pet Cabana is available for use in suites, or at the pool or beach so dogs can enjoy the outdoors in shady comfort. As well as the “Canine Delights” menu features special dishes and chefs will prepare made-to-order dishes.
All pet cuisine is served in appropriate pet ware: metallic bowls and on placemats. The resort has qualified pet sitters available upon request to ensure your pet is in the best care possible. They will also walk pets, either along the fine-sand beach or in the flowering desert countryside. Guests never have to wake up early to take their dogs out, or cut dinner short to walk them at night; the dog butlers handle that chore so that guests can truly relax and enjoy their vacation. Additionally, Dog Butlers can even organize birthday parties for your dog and invite his furry friends to attend.
- Fairmont, San Francisco, USA
The welcome for pets is every bit as luxurious as it is for their human companions, with a comfy bed and water bowls ready and waiting in the room on arrival. Dogs are guaranteed to get plenty of exercise in neighboring Huntington Park or along the famously steep streets. Back at the hotel, after working up an appetite, pets can enjoy their own room service menu featuring chicken or salmon with vegetables and brown rice. They have an outdoor bar and restaurant deck serving both cocktails and full fine-dining meals where your dog can join you.
- Rosewood, London, UK
The “Luxury Canine Package” at the Rosewood London is one such extravagant experience whereby pets and owners are both given the five-star treatment. For the pooches there’s a stylish dog bed, collar, leash, and coat all designed by British heritage brand Barbour, plus a one-hour grooming session. Rosewood provides natural and organic dishes. While even the “basic” rooms here are wonderful, another area in which the hotel excels is its suites, many of which are true residences, large and spacious with fireplaces, vast living rooms, gourmet kitchens and best of all, outdoor garden areas and corner terraces. All pet friendly, of course.
- Hotel Chinzanso, Tokyo, Japan
Here, guests can enjoy a hassle-free and stress-free vacation, both for themselves and their dogs. The accommodation package provides guests with: a doggy bed, an eating and drinking mat and food bow, a doggy bag with specially designed toys and treats, as well as dog-friendly staff on hand to provide assistance when needed. Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo offers guest rooms equipped with amenities for pets, as well as a private dog park in Serenity Garden. It also offers mud masks, soothing massages, grooming salons, massive indoor and outdoor play areas and therapeutic activities for your cats and dogs, making it one of the best pet hotels in the world.
- Fairmont Hotel, Vancouver, Canada
In this hotel, pups get the royal treatment beginning at check-in with a greeting by the on-staff dogs, Elly and Ella. The hotel’s Designer Doggie Package includes a luxe leather collar, matching leash, an hour-long photo shoot, round-trip transportation to the dog park, toys, treats, and a $50 donation to BC & Alberta Guide Dogs. After a day exploring the city, guests can order room service from the “droolicious” canine menu, which includes items like prime rib bone with gravy lacquer and rotisserie chicken with steel-cut oats and raw veggies.
